AfricansGoneNatural, Africa’s number one Natural Hair Movement, recently announced the winners of its third Annual #AfrikinkyAwards. The Afrikinky Awards is a campaign that was launched in 2017 to help amplify the voice of women entrepreneurs, by celebrating, honoring and recognizing African natural hair innovators who are changing the game by creating products and jobs and contributing to economic growth within the continent. Nominees are selected for each country by AfricansGoneNatural followers in the categories of BEST NATURAL HAIR SALON, BEST NATURAL HAIR BLOGGER, and BEST NATURAL HAIR BRAND and selected during the voting period.

We are proud to announce that this year we had winners from 7 African nations of Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa and newly added Angola. We take great pride in having the ability to help promote and recognize the Crème de la Crème for each country. Women who have won the awards have continued to receive brand exposure, which further contributes to their overall business exposure within their respective countries. We hope to expand to other nations as well in an effort to continue in our mission to empower and recognize African Enterprises.

There is a Queen who is supported by many other Queens and a few Kings and Princesses and Princes..they hold her up and uplift her with their kind words, they listen to her many ramblings and advise about all things hair and they comment and engage with her and she continues to soar because of them. She is because they are. She is because of them… That Queen is Me and those Queens and Kings are YOU. Thank you to every one who voted for me and for all the winners of the Afrikinki awards. I love you all and will continue to spur on, if not for myself, but for the next one who has a natural hair question or just needs to be inspired to be themselves. Thank you to you!💕💕💕 Thank you @africansgonenatural, the work that you do is appreciated and much needed. By Africa, For Africa😘

😊5 years Natural😊 This month marks my 5year natural hair anniversary 🎉 🎉. I remember getting shears and cutting of the relaxed part of my hair 9 months after because i felt i was ready and my hair had started to mat so bad. So if you're transitioning don't let anyone tell you what or when to cut your hair. If you're ready you'll know it. If you're finding it very difficult to detangle your hair and you feel let me just go natural, go for it. 5 years wow seems like yesterday but I've learnt so many things on this journey and one main thing is that Consistency is key. I bet you hear this all the time but there's no magic or quick fixes. Building a regimen and being consistent yields results over time. There's so much information online. Google and youtube is your bestfriend especially for our new naturals and those transitioning. For me i joined a haircare group on whatsapp thanx to haircare blogger @emprezzabena and also did lots of research and I'm glad i can impart that knowledge to others. How long have you been natural? And what's the one most important thing you've learnt so far on your hair journey? #kinks2curls #Naturalchixs #twists #healthy_hair_journey #naturalhairloves #type4hair #naturallydoingthemost #africanhairsummit  #naturalhairgoddesses #kinkynaturalhair #respectmyhair #Unconditionedroots #naturallyshesdope #Amazingnaturalhair #protectivestyles #kinkyhairrocks #TeamNatural_ #afroliciouswomen #africansgonenatural #myhaircrush  #ghananaturals #naturalhairspirations #blessedwithkurls

AfricansGoneNatural is a natural hair movement that was created in 2015 by two working class women with young families, who saw the need to help empower women worldwide to embrace their natural hair and beauty. The initiative started with the mission to help empower women with the information they need to help them become confident in rocking their natural hair and embracing their natural beauty. They have grown tremendously across their social media platforms and in the fall of 2017, launched their very own Natural Hair and Skin product line @AFRIKINKY. This was in an effort to further the mission to help people embrace natural skin and hair care with the use of all natural products. They take pride in the fact that work is with a women’s cooperative in Africa who handcraft all of their products and in turn are helping to empower them to build their communities and improve their quality of lives. The mission is to help other African Companies and Women strive for success collaboratively.
